He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Eugene Merrifield and Evelyn Duncan Merrifield; and his brothers, Don and Bob Merrifield. He is survived by: his children, Mark Merrifield, John Merrifield and Mallory Purvis (Brandon); his siblings, Jim Merrifield (Charlene) and Jackie Pelt (Alan); and his grandchildren, Liam, Lawson Merrifield, John Michael Merrifield, Adaline and Oliver Purvis.
