He is survived by: his wife Shirley Gaither; his granddaughter Shelby Byrd; and his siblings, Bill Gaither (Toshiko) and Carol (Larry). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews that were very dear to him, 6 step-daughters, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
