It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Judith Ellen Smith of Marianna, Florida, who passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hughie Jewell Kent and Nellie Ramsey Kent; her in-laws, Hermon and Bob Smith; her sister Elizabeth Peavy; and her nephew Jerry Austin.
She is survived by: her husband Garrie Smith; her sons, Eric Smith (Kerry) and Lee Smith; her grandchildren, Erica Creel, Neal, Kendall, Mary Ellen and Stephen Smith; her siblings-in-law, Robert Smith and Bonnie Smith; and her nephews, Steve Austin (Tasha), Kevin, Michael and Ryan Smith.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home (3960 W Lafayette St, Marianna, FL 32446). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at the Cypress Creek Community Church (1772 Macedonia Rd, Cottondale, FL 32431).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations of school supplies to local elementary schools in honor of Ellen's dedication to education.
