She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Ray and Hattie Mae Teel; her husband Dalton Eugene "Gene" Barnes; and her son Daniel Eugene Barnes. She is survived by: her children, David Barnes (Brenda) of Andalusia, Alabama, Denise Merrifield of Kynesville and Suzanne Adams (Landis) of Prattville, Alabama.; her grandchildren, Amber Barnes Radford, Mark Merrifield, John Merrifield, Mallory Purvis (Brandon), Mary Sue Woodruff (Joe), Caroline Dean (Joshua), Sara Kate Chaffer (Joel) and Caleb Joseph Barnes; and her great grandchildren, Sean, Seth, Tyler, Liam, Lawson, John Michael, Stella, Simon, Hattie Mae, Thomas, Magnolia, Adaline and Oliver. She is also survived by extended family included numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
After this, she ventured to Miami for a period before finding her way to Marianna, where she would make lasting contributions to the community she cherished.
