He was predeceased by: his parents, Melton Ryals and Thelma Ryals; and his siblings, Curtis Ryals, Ray Ryals, Junior Ryals, Pauline Johnson, Kate Bass and Linda Conroy.
He is survived by: his close friend Zelma; his son Ruben; his grandson Noah; and his sister Nora Dobbs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
