He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Nelson and Gennieve Nelson; and his brothers, Henry, Wendell, Larry and Terry Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Stella "Joyce" Nelson; his daughter Amy Nelson; and his siblings, Clarence, Jerry Nelson (Jean) and Gwyn Thomas (Truett). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
