Robert Roy (Bob) Downum Obituary

Robert Roy 'Bob' Downum of Marianna, Florida, who passed away at the age of 82, on July 27, 2019 in Dothan, Alabama. He was a retired School Teacher, Driver's Education Instructor and talented Basketball Coach. Patience was said that he had an abundance of. He served in the California Air National Guard. His hands were even made famous in a Basketball movie, as his hands were used in making all the shots.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Michael Lea Downum of Marianna, Florida and 2 daughters Felicia Fancy Dorchuck and husband Jerry Lee of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Tressa R Carpenter and her husband Dennis Allen of Marianna, Florida. 2 grandsons Robert M L Carepenter and Damien A P Carpenter and three great grandchildren Andrew, Catie and Araya Boggini. Brother: Thurmon "Sonny" C. Downum of Pacific Grove, California. Sister: Patsy Charlene Rumsey of Moore, Oklahoma. Any many more cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by : his parents, William Henry Downum and Essie Beard Hensley Downum and five brothers Thomas Arlie, Henry Orville, William Ray, Freddy Lee, Frances Russell "Frank, and four sisters Lottie Marie, Virginia Mae 'Virgie', Barbara Joline, Freyda Carol.

Interment will follow in Cypress Cemetery.
