He was predeceased by: his parents, G. Tony Gilmer and Bessie Goldie Gilmer; his wife Shirley Darlene Gilmer of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; his daughter Kimberly Jo Brasfield; his son-in-law Andy Brasfield of Newbern, Tennessee; and his siblings, Tony, Billy, Paul Gilmer, Betty Edgar and Ella Marshall.
He is survived by: his daughter Terri Hudgens (Bob) of Mary Esther, Florida; his grandchildren, Luke Hudgens (Ashley) of Florala, Brooks Brasfield (Morgan) of Nashville, Steve Hudgens (Haleigh) of Fort Walton Beach and Grace Hudgens (Javier) of Franklin, Tennessee; his great grandchildren, Henry Fuller, Mia Hudgens, Lenora Brasfield, Reese Hudgens and Asher Miroquesada; his close friend Nell Poston of Mary Esther; and his sister-in-law Rhonda Casteel (John) of Rockfield. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
