With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan M. Derwitsch in Melbourne, Florida, who passed away on May 12, 2025 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Viola Salafia (Bongiorno) and John Salafia; and her brother Jack Salafia. She is survived by: her husband Al Derwitsch; her children, Christine Southwick (Jim), Michael O'Brien (Cheryl) and Susan Hamilton; her grandchildren, Michael, Amanda, Jessica, Mason and Jim; her great grandchildren, Zoey, Ricardo, Charlie and Benjamin; and her brother Paul Salafia (Margaret) of Andover. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the William Childs Hospice House, 381 Medplex Parkway Palm Bay, FL 32907.
