With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Aaron Earl Glasgow, who peacefully left this world on November 21, 2024, in Melbourne, FL, at the age of 60, after bravely facing a battle with cancer. Born on September 23, 1964, in Miami-Dade, FL, Aaron grew up in the quiet beauty of Duane, NY, where he cultivated a life filled with love, hard work, and a deep devotion to his family, friends, and community.
Aaron was a kind and gentle soul who found beauty in the simple joys of life—walking in the woods, being in nature, fishing, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. His strength, humor, and support brought comfort and light to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had an extraordinary gift for making people laugh, often with a quick wit or an infectious smile that could brighten even the darkest day.
Later in life, Aaron achieved a personal triumph by embracing sobriety, demonstrating resilience, courage, and an enduring commitment to those he loved. His journey was a testament to his determination and became a source of inspiration for others, showing that growth and transformation are always possible. His AA family was a cornerstone of this journey, offering unwavering support and a sense of belonging that brought him great comfort. Aaron found profound purpose in helping others, sharing his knowledge, and guiding those who sought hope and healing through the program. AA was not only vital for his own survival but also a way for him to give back to the community that had been a lifeline for so many. Through his dedication, Aaron became a shining example of how connection, compassion, and hope can lead to remarkable transformation.
Aaron’s deep love for his family was the heart of who he was. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend who touched the lives of everyone he met with his warm smile and generous heart. His wisdom and guidance were a beacon of light to those fortunate enough to call him a loved one.
Aaron will be forever cherished by his mother, Sylvia Glasgow; his siblings, John & Marianne Earl, Melissa & Scott J. Monroe, and Paul George; his children, Amanda L. Combe, Elizabeth J. Glasgow, Michelle C. Glasgow, and Cory A. Smith; his grandchildren, Dillon A. Shilstone, Ethan D.N. Smith, Micah W. George, Nevaeh F. Ledwith, and Zoey A. Shilstone; his nephew, Matthew Glasgow; and his aunt Katie, uncle Ian, and cousins in WA & NJ. He was preceded in death by his father, Silas Glasgow II, and his brothers, David E. Glasgow and Silas Glasgow III. The love and laughter Aaron shared with his family will remain in their hearts always.
In keeping with Aaron’s wishes, a memorial video celebrating his life will be shared in lieu of a traditional funeral. Friends and family are invited to reflect on the moments that made Aaron’s life so special, cherishing the memories and the lessons he left behind. A special and heartfelt thank you is extended to his sister, Melissa Monroe, for her unconditional love, compassion, and devotion. Melissa remained by Aaron’s side throughout his final weeks, ensuring he was surrounded by comfort and care. Her kindness and selfless dedication were a true blessing to Aaron and to the entire family.
