With profound sadness, we say goodbye to William Allen Cathey in Mexico Beach, Florida, born in Memphis, Tennessee, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. William left this world on May 14, 2026 at the age of 78, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Curlin Cathey and William Othal Cathey (Bubba). He is survived by: his wife Carol; his sons, Brian Cathey and Lee Cathey (Lyndsey); his grandchildren, Caitlin Cathey, Braden Cathey, Wyatt Cathey and Waylon Cathey; and his sister Janie Cathey Adkison (Perry). He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Future Home. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Al Cathey Leadership Through Service Scholarship Fund, which supports future leaders graduating from Port St. Joe High School, his alma mater.
