She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Alfredo Mendez and Margarita C. Mendez; her husband Sixto; her daughter Ana Calvo; and her son-in-law Luis Sanchez.

She is survived by: her children, Sue Calvo, Cristina Hutchins (Chris) and George Calvo (Barbara); and her grandchildren, Katie Calvo (Joel), Mike, Nick Calvo and Daniel Hutchins.

A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Brendan Catholic Church (8725 SW 32nd St, Miami, FL 33165).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margarita M. Calvo's name to: St. Brendan Catholic Church, and/or to a charity of your choice.
