“Because of her I read Santa Teresa de Ávila, Góngora and Quevedo. She gave me and my fellow students hundreds and hundreds of photocopied pages to read. I read them all and carried them with me for many years. I have the best memories of her no-nonsense old-school teaching. She was a real lady, a real professor, and really tough. When my old classmate told me of her passing we remembered her in this way, more than thirty years later. God bless you.”
