He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Maddox and Clyde Kamer Maddox; his siblings, Betty Grimes, Nettie Gee, Willard Maddox and Dewey "Pee Wee" Maddox; and his stepdaughter Terri Canady.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Dyal Maddox; his children, Rocky Maddox (Suwanna) and Patsy Rollins (Hugh); his stepchildren, Sandra Mayhall (Bryon) and Stephen Smith (Kim); his grandchildren, Ivey Smith, Dustin Mayhall, Samuel "Bo" Mayhall, Jacob Canady, Heather Lynn, Jeremy Pittman, Patrick Pittman, Sofia Maddox and Taylor Maddox; and his friend Virginia Griffis. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
