It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cheryl S. Best of Middleburg, Florida, who passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Cheryl may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Cheryl touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her father Elmer Smith; her husband Robert Best; and her son Derick Best. She is survived by: her mother Vestel Mae Taylor Smith; her daughter Cherie Rogers (Bill); her grandsons, Gavin, Cole, William and Gabriel; her sisters, Sandra Fessler (Jeff) and Gail Thrush (John); and her sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Stepp (Lou) and Cheryl Best (Earl). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many other loving family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Jacksonville Memory Gardens (111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073).
