He was predeceased by: his father William Blackwelder; his former wife Christine Blackwelder (Taylor); his wife Joenell "Wilkinson" Blackwelder; his adoptive son Rodney Blackwell; and his brother Samuel Blackwelder.
He is survived by: his sister Cybil Gene Douglas of Worthington Springs; and his stepson William Daniel Thompson (Joanne) of Deltona. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews in addition to a host of extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church or to VITAS Hospice.
