He was predeceased by : his parents, Will Walker and Pearlie Whigum Walker; his wife Ann; his siblings, Dora, Florence Walker and Harold Walker; his nephew Alfred Black; his children, James Stanton and Christine Annette Barnes; and his grandson Calvin Walker, Jr..

He is survived by : his goddaughters, Stephanie Prather and Stephanie Kinnard; his cousins, Margaret Bailey, Judy Blackwell, Catherine Paige, Ella Cawthon and Dorothy Harris; and his close friends, Willie C., Mary Rushing, James and Phyllis Palmer. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
