He was predeceased by: his parents, Keith Dewater and Pearl Dewater (Thorp); and his siblings, Charles, Terry and Cheryl.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Gann of Waterloo; his sons, Kevin and Kent; his grandchildren, Brandon, Bradly, Amanda, Bethany, Carley and Kelsey; his great grandchildren, Damien, Ivy, Landen, Jordin, Ashtyn, Tyson and Gabe; and his siblings, Gary, Richard, Kathy and Ann.
