John David Viveiros Obituary
John David Viveiros, Jr. unexpectedly passed away at his home in Pace, Florida on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the age of 51. John was born in Newport, RI on October 21, 1969. He graduated from Pace High School in 1988 and went on to earn a degree from University of West Florida. He has worked as a Physical Education teacher at Avalon Middle School since 2003 while also coaching many years of football and baseball at Pace High School.
John is predeceased by his parents, John David Viveiros, Sr. and Mary Schenck Martin. He is survived by his fiancé, Diane Silcox Jernigan, and their children: John David Viveiros, III, Brad (Ashley) Ellis, Brianne Wallace, Zach (Casey) Jernigan, Brandon Jernigan; and four grandchildren: Branson & Brody Viveiros, Harlow Watson, and Ellie Jernigan.
His in-laws include Ronnie and Marchale Silcox, Brenda Silcox, Joe and Shannon Silcox, and his "Little Granny" Hilda Silcox. Special mention of his good friend, Jack Roberson. John is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Robert (Sondra) Deagle, James "Bud" Martin, Jr., and Drew Martin, all of Pace, FL; his step-dad, Jim Martin; his aunt and uncle, Barbara Brotherton-Barnes (Bret) of Pensacola, FL; nephews, Seth and Nolan Deagle; cousin, Christine Vaks, and many extended relatives in (Newport) Rhode Island.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and loved coaching. His favorite teams were the Pace Patriots, Florida State Seminoles, New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. The family will gather and receive friends from 12 pm - 3 pm, on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Lewis Funeral Home, 4777 West Spencerfield Road, Pace, Florida.
A Celebration of Life service will be held immediately following at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crowd Funding site with Lewis Funeral Home to help with expenses at this time or Pace High School Baseball.
