He is survived by: his brother Wayne Kerns (Barbara) of Currituck; his nephew Wesley Kerns of Currituck; his sons, John Kerns, Jr. (Loulou) of San Francisco, California and James Kerns (Pamela) of Tampa, Florida; his granddaughters, Alexandra Rochelle Kerns and Luciana Giselle Kerns; Irene Kerns of Navarre, Florida.
