He was predeceased by: his parents, John Walter Harman Sr. and Sara Jean Chewning Harman of Milton; his in-laws, James Gwynn Starling and Vivian Starling of Headland, Alabama.; and his siblings, James Langley Harman and Yancey Harman Narramore.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Starling Harman; his sons, John Walter Harman, III (Joe) and James Gwynn Harman; his brother Robert William Harman (Bill); his sister-in-law Jeanette of Milton; and his friend John Melvin Hall of Milton Florida.
