He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gibbons and Eleanor Gibbons (Fleming); and his brother Edward Gibbons, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Linda Gibbons (Sampietro); his children, Christy Rilette (Gibbons) and Drew Gibbons; his daughter-in-law Sarah Gibbons; and his grandchildren, Mia Rilette, Caroline Rilette, Edward Gibbons and Margaret Gibbons.
