With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George LeRoy Cooper of Monticello, Florida, born in Detroit, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 16, 2024 at the age of 83. He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Cooper and Bessie Cooper; his half-brother Mac McCarthy of Michigan; his parents-in-law, Buford E. Tyre, Sr. and Isabell Wolff (Karl); and his sister-in-law Brenda Williams.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Cooper of Monticello, FL; his children, Connie Barnard (David) of Tallahassee, Florida and Chad Cooper (Christi) of Louisville, Kentucky; his stepson Scott Hall of Tallahassee, Florida; his brothers-in-law, Buford E. Tyre, Jr. (Mollie) and Art Williams; his grandchildren, Stephanie Thompson, Christina Thompson, Dustin Hall, Bradley Cooper, Brandon Cooper, Megan Watt (Joseph), Justin Eads (Donna), Ben Barnard (Katie Kascak) and Patty Rodriguez; and his great grandchildren, Avery Barnard, Hannah Cooper, Minnie Cooper, Remmy Cooper, Skylar Watt, Hazel Watt and Evelyn McCord.
