He was predeceased by: his parents, John Walter Padgett and Iva Della Maddox. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn "Boots" Sasser Padgett; and his children, Iva Wimp (Jim), Jim Amburgey (Natalie), Sheree Neill (Mike), Debbie Anderson (Jim), Barbara Mathews (Charlie) and Pam Byrd. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
