It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Payne Lawrence of Monticello, Florida, born in Thomasville, Georgia, who passed away on January 1, 2022, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his wife Amy Kirkland; and his brother Richard Lawrence. He is survived by : his daughters, Erica Lawrence and Maggie Lawrence; his brother Carl "Jabo" Lawrence; his sister-in-law Anne Lawrence; his brother Lester C. Lawrence; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Lawrence; his niece Lynn McDonald; and his nephews, Hiram Lawrence and Aaron Lawrence. He is also survived by several cousins and their families; three dogs and three cats; and countless devoted friends.

“Today they placed the body of a friend to rest. I couldn’t be there. But I have something that I will always remember. Bill had a calm and quiet sense of humor. When I would see that snicker come out I knew he was thinking something up. Other than his daughters Bills love was always Amys. He would tell me firsthand of the wonderful years they had together. He get to thinking then laughing and out came another of their adventures. I miss you Bill”
