She was predeceased by: her parents, A. L. McNiel and Sadie McNiel (Merritt); her husband Carl Fortner; and her daughter Teresa Kanieski. She is survived by: her children, Diane Fortner Jimenez (Jimmy), Shea Fortner (Paul), Art Fortner (Kim) and Robert Fortner (Rhonda); and her sister Glenda Sheffield. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
