The passing of Alexander Robert Garland Sr. in Naples, Florida occurred on July 10, 2026. Alexander, born on September 25, 1937 in Mount Kisco, New York, is remembered by those who knew him. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Garland and LaBelle Garland; and his brothers, Joseph and Theodore Garland. He is survived by: his wife Louise McBride Garland; his daughter Shawn Garland; Larry Parker, Allie Foster, Zach Foster, Alex Garland Jr. (Kristina Garland), Alexis Garland Zuk (Ben Zuk) and Kyleigh Garland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 13th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at 9891 Gulf Shore Dr, Naples, FL 34108.
In true Al fashion, guests are encouraged to wear his iconic black jeans, arrive in their favorite vehicle, and, in lieu of flowers, bring a favorite photograph, funny story, or treasured memory to share. Memorial contributions may be made to the Naples North Rotary Club Scholarship Fund, continuing Al's lifelong commitment to helping others and investing in future generations.
