He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Schummer and Mabel Schummer; his siblings, Dorothy, Betty, Eleanor and Dan; his stepson Kent Richards; and his mother-in-law Esther Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Richards; his siblings, Lucille of Winter Park and Richard Schummer of Swartz Creek, Michigan; and his children, Dave Schummer (Jackie) of Newberry, Darlene Kisro (Butch) of Newberry, Darrell Schummer (Terese) of Newberry, Dawn Mills (Jim) of Newberry and Randy Richards of Naples. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
