Duane Larry Nelson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Duane Larry Nelson of Naples, Florida, who passed away on March 15, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Nelson and Hilda Nelson (Zinter). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Kephart; his son Bradley Nelson (Stacey) of Dallas; his grandchildren, Thaxton, Mackenzie, Hampton and Morgan; his daughter Laura Nelson McCoy (Jeff) of Dallas; his granddaughters, Hannah and Charlotte; his siblings, Karen Nelson Smith (Allan) of Cocoa Beach and Gene Nelson (Linda Paton) of Loves Park; and his sister-in-law Nancy Kephart Ruedebusch (Jim) of Naples. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Larry's memory to the Alzheimer's Support Network or Tunnel to Towers.
