Earl La Verne Council Obituary

Earl (Pat) La Verne Council (Naples, Florida) passed away with his wife at his side on April 16, 2023, at the age of 81. He is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Per his request, cremation rites have been accorded.

Earl was born in Des Moines, IA and lived there until he turned 16. Leaving Des Moines was the beginning of a life full of education and adventure. The day he turned 18 he enlisted in the Army, spending most of that time in Germany. He loved learning new things. He loved nature. He loved traveling, especially on his motorcycles. He loved his jobs.

Earl worked several jobs but the most meaningful was his job at Alter & Sons, Davenport, IA and his relationship with the owner Harry Alter; and his job at ALCOA, Inc. He treasured all of his relationships with his coworkers at both companies and the lifelong friendships that came from those jobs.

Earl will be greatly missed by his wife, Sheryl, his "kids", Archie and AJay, his siblings, Carol Hodgden, Gary (Ellen) Council, Randy (Sue) Dague, and Doris Krueger, but we know we will see him again when it's our turn to transition to Heaven.

A celebration of life, with military honors, will be held on Friday, April 28th, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Berean Baptist Church (1851 County Barn Road, Naples, Florida 34112).

Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Earl (Pat) Council to pay them a last tribute.

Donations may be made to Berean Baptist Church at the above address, in lieu of flowers.
