With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edra Jean Alvis Scheidt in Naples, Florida, born in Vincennes, Indiana, who passed away on June 5, 2023 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Leist and Edra Leist (Busse); her husband Rex Alvis; and her sister George-Anna VanMeter (Leist) of San Antonio, Texas.. She is survived by: her friend Donald L. Scheidt; her great grandchild Nannie; her children, Rev. Gregory Alvis (Kim) of Monticello, IL and Gina Bishop (Rolly) of Shelbyville; her grandchildren, Alison (Murphy), Kayla Alvis (James Allison) of Columbus, OH, Jacob Alvis (Jamie Holliday) of Littleton and Danielle Alvis of Seattle; her great grandchildren, Stella and Edie Fisher of Fishers, IN.; her children, Rick (Kay), Steve (Rosemary), Bob Scheidt and Sandy Birge (Stephen); her grandchildren, AJ (Therese), Chris (Emily), Giavanna, Thomas Scheidt, Sarah Zietlow (Tim), Emelia Harris (Alex), Kevin and Laura Birge; her great grandchildren, Brady, Logan, Aidan, Abigail, Hudson, Maggie Scheidt, Scarlett, Jade, Lilly Zietlow, Elliot and Camille Harris; and her friends, Gloria Nash and Joan Calkins. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
