He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcia Smith and Fred Smith; his daughter Pam Lane; and his sister Nancy Durkee. He is survived by: his wife Maggie; his children, Charlie Smith (Jane) and Carol Spillane (Paul); and his grandchildren, Stephanie Cleary, Cortney Cummings, Lydia McMahon, Emily Dainys, Delia Brown, Katie Donahue and Dan Spillane. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
