She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Ignacio Esteban and Maria Asuncion Esteban; and her brother Jose Ignacio Esteban. She is survived by: her children, Anamarie Mendez Root (James) and Bibiana Mendez-Barrett (Frank); her grandchildren, Austin, Justis and Alec Root; and her sister Maria A. Vila. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends.
