He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene T. Leary and Frances Dunn Leary. He is survived by: his wife Elly Leary; his daughters, Eva Corso (Gianluca Corso) and Deanne Mehtala (Filippo Mastrocola); and his grandson Joseph Mehtala, Jr. of Naples, FL..
A memorial gathering was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McFarland Funeral Chapel (54 McFarland Dr, Tryon, NC 28782).
