With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frieda (Metroyanis) Nicholas of Naples, Florida, born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on May 18, 2023 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Metroyanis and Mary Metroyanis; her husband Nick; and her siblings, Angeline Thiakos, George Metroyanis and Susan George.
She is survived by: her daughter Irene Cheek (Nicholas); her son-in-law Donald; her son George Nicholas; her daughter-in-law Beth; her grandchildren, Timothy (Megan), Nick (Ashley), Matthew and Ashley; and her great grandchildren, Lydia, Nicholas, Ada, Farrah and Bodhi.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Frieda's name to Annunciation Church, 8210 Cypress Lake Dr., Fort Myers, FL or Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 8000 Madison St., Merrillville, IN.
