He was predeceased by: his parents, James Patterson and Davidena Patterson (Armstrong); his wife Pauline Margaret Patterson; his daughter Tara Taylor; and his sister Pearl Patterson.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Hughes of Toronto, Ontario, James Patterson (Karyn) of Farmington, MI, Michele Rose of Labelle, FL and Daniel Patterson (Amy) of Towson, MD.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Beyond golf, James had a strong commitment to charity work, particularly with the United Way.
