He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Slager and Elizabeth Slager. He is survived by: his friend Joanne Boersma; his wife Joanne; his children, Jill Hofslien and John A. (Jack); his daughter-in-law Kim Slager; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Ryan (Will), Angelina Slager and Jonathan Slager; and his great grandchild Silas Ryan.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and organizations who provided kindness and compassion along the way, especially First Presbyterian Church of Naples, the Alzheimer's Support Network, Club Harmonia, and Avow Hospice.
