Joe passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023 with his wife of 54 years, Audrey, by his side. In addition to Audrey, he leaves his two children, Linda Tuttolomondo and Joseph (Elaine) Tuttolomondo, Jr., four Grandchildren, Melea Evans, Jeremy Herman, Andrea Tuttolomondo and Matthew Tuttolomondo and two Great-Grandchildren, Ellie Rose Evans and Abbie Marie Evans. Joe's parents and all five of his siblings predeceased him. Lastly he leaves two sisters-in-law, Karen Gibson and Margaret Day and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Joe's three favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Prison Fellowship and BigLife.

“I was one of Chief Tuttolomondo’s Undercover Deputies in the 1970’s. It was a Honor to be part of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Squad. It was the Chiefs Leadership and experience with the Buffalo Police Dept. that made the Narcotic Squad so great . Back then things were very dangerous but the Chief always had our backs. He will be in my prayers as well as the other Narcotic Officers who have passed”
