He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederic Geary and Violet Geary; and his siblings, Martha Sonora and Frederic "Ted" Geary. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Brazil Geary; his children, Kathleen Purvis (Richard), Christine Mackenzie of Weymouth, Maureen Best of Vineyard Haven and Joseph C. Geary Jr. (Laurene) of North Port, FL.; his grandchildren, Matt, Ethan, Lindsay, Matthew, Olivia, Hannah, Maggie, Joseph, Brianna, Samantha, Maeve, Nora, Cameron and Abby; and his sons, Braxton, James and Jack.
