He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon and Florence; his wife Joan (Shaughnessy); his son David; and his sister Nancy.

He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah Cannon (Scott) of Colorado Springs and Darcy Rook (Jared) of Naples, Florida; his adoptive sons, Bob of Massachusetts and Sean of Massachusetts; and his brothers, Richard Durbin (Joanne) of Port Charlotte and Robert Durbin (Linda) of Mechanicsville, Virginia. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
