He is survived by: his wife Rainey Norins; his sister-in-law Evie; his niece Patricia Clapp (Adrian); his great-niece Abigail; his nephew Adam Norins; his stepsons, Taylor Thompson and Cheyney Thompson; and his grandchildren, Rainey and Luther.
He helped broaden interest and funding for research on Alzheimer's microbes by lobbying NIH, Alzheimer's support groups, and philanthropists.
