She was loved and cherished by many people including: her son Joel Gay; her husband Michael Gay Sr.; her daughter Roxane Gay; her daughter-in-law Debbie Millman; her son Michael Gay Jr.; her daughter-in-law Aide Gay; her grandchildren, Jean-Patrick Gay, Parker Nicole Gay and London Kate Gay; her parents, Frank Pilorge and Marie Gerardine Emma Edouard; and her siblings, Frantz, Lillian, Gerard, Marise, Marie-Denise, Ti-Jean, Tamara, Nesly and Astrid.
Just before the COVID-19 pandemic began, Nicole was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer despite never smoking, or drinking alcohol and having very strong opinions about the scourge of marijuana.
