He was predeceased by: his mother Lucy Gardner; his aunt Myrtice Gentle; his son Alan Posey; and his grandson Bryan Childress. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruth; his children, Norman Thomas Gardner (Debbie) and Debbie Childress (Ron); his grandchildren, Brent Childress (Sarah), Wesley Posey, Shanna Gregory (Chris) and Morgan Butler (Miley); his great grandchildren, Jeremy Childress (Leanna), Blakely Childress and Keagan Childress; and his great great grandchild Ember Childress. He is also survived by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, his request was that memorial contributions be made to Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Student Scholarship Fund, 2825 Lexington RD, Louisville, KY 40280.
