He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Patrick Thompson and Elsie Thompson; his wife Joanne Nixon Thompson; his children, Teresa "Tina" Thompson, Stephanie Nixon, James Nixon (Laura) and Celestina "Sally" Thompson-Nelson; his grandchildren, Olivia, Ashley, Eric, David, Jenna, Cory and Jennifer; his great grandchildren, Aleena, Killian, Slade, Autumn, Mazi and Tobe; his sister Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Oldham; his pets, Phoebe and Chloe; and his granddaughter Lindsey.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to New York Blood & Cancer Specialists or the charity of one's choice.
