He was predeceased by: his parents, Colonel Warren J Hayes and Brenda Hayes (Grace); and his brother Dr. Stephen D Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Marie Alice Hayes (LeClaire); his sister Kathleen Moriarty (Robert); his sister-in-law Clare Hayes; his children, Dr. John Henderson (Fernanda Ferreiera), Jayne Schandl, Marc Peter Hayes (Helen) and Beth "Peacha" McKee (Bruce McKee); his grandchildren, Charles Schandl (Katie Todd), Jason Schandl (Emma Fisher-Cobb), Nicole Schandl, Katherine Karlin McKee, Kaylie Hayes and Kendall Hayes; and his great grandchildren, Charlie Schandl and Austin Schandl. He is also survived by nephews, nieces and cousins.
