He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard J. Van Bell, Sr. and Alice Van Bell (Verslype); and his stepfather Archie Roets. He is survived by: his wife Diane Van Bell (Dobbelaere) of Mary's Church; his sons, Marc Van Bell (Debbie) of Whitefish Bay, WI and Chad Van Bell (Jodi) of Clive, IA; his grandchildren, Caroline, Benjamin, Sarah and Jenna; his brother Greg Roets (Shari); his aunt Marge Collins of East Moline, IL; and his siblings-in-law, Bill and Margy Dobbelaere of Bettendorf, IA. He is also survived by two nieces, two nephews and several cousins.
In lieu of Flowers, memorials can be made to Alleman High School or The Prostate Cancer Foundation.
