He was predeceased by: his wife Jan Rowland; his daughter Sandra Jane Rowland "Sandy"; and his siblings, Sylvia Blair, James Rowland, Harry Rowland and Douglas Rowland.

He is survived by: his daughters, Barbara Heile (Scott Siers), Jenny Segin (Sean) and Melissa Dickinson (Chris); his grandchildren, John Michael Heile, Lauren Heile, Hannah Heile, Nicholas Segin Meredith Segin (Kaytelynn), Peyton Johnson (Matt) and Claire Dickinson; his great grandchild Rowan Segin; his close friends, Ben, Linda Jackson, Marvin Hairr and Jane Rowland; and his caregiver Angela. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
