He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas McCartan and Cecile McCartan (DeCelles). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Beaurivage McCartan; his children, Tom (Gayle Metz) of Taylorsville, UT and Robin (Jason Carey) of South Windsor, CT; his grandchildren, Erin (Del Varesio) of Manchester, CT, Andrew Carey (Caitlyn Havican) of Allston, MA, Patrick Carey and Benjamin Carey of South Windsor, CT.; and his siblings, Peter McCartan of Nevada, Kathleen McCartan of Connecticut, Theresa (Robert Donovan) of South Carolina, Dennis McCartan (Maryann) of Colorado and Patricia Prue (David Wright) of New Hampshire. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He volunteered at NCH Hospital Baker in Naples prior to COVID-19, was a member of The Moorings Golf Club, and enjoyed reading, golfing, and playing cards.
