He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Potter and Elizabeth Potter (Christie); his brothers, Jeffrey and Scott; his stepson Josh Potter; his nephew Scott Potter Jr.; and his pet Spotless.
He is survived by: his wife Janis Potter; his son Jared; his niece Rachel DeSpain; his cousin Martha Christie-Patrick; and also, Courtney Patrick and Julianne Patrick.
