Willard Passauer III Obituary

Willard F. "Bill" Passauer III, age 38, passed away peacefully on December 20th, after a valiant fight with cancer surrounded by family.

He was born in San Antonio, Texas, the son of the Deacon Willard "Fred" Passauer II and Kathy A. Passauer of Naples Florida. He grew up in Manchester MD. There he formed friendships that are still strong today. After graduation from North Carroll High School he enrolled in the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale where he received his bachelor's degree in Industrial Design. After graduation he was employed by King of Fans in Fort Lauderdale. Over the next 15 years he continued honing his craft and becoming an integral part of the King of Fans family as Design Director. He achieved much success including a number of U.S. patents. He settled in Fort Lauderdale purchasing his own home where he and his beloved dog Otis lived.

Golfing, skate boarding, traveling, rooting for the hometown teams of the Baltimore Orioles, Ravens and Terps, and most especially spending time with Otis, were a few of his favorite pastimes.

All of his activities reflect the man that he was…. a loyal and true friend with a great sense of humor, loving, compassionate, artistically creative, and a keen eye and sharp mind for design work. A man who will be missed by many.

Willard was preceded in death by his Grandfather Willard F. Passauer and grandmother Emma (Chipley) Passauer of Erie, PA. and his maternal grandfather Blair H. Wink of Curwensville PA.

He is survived by his parents: Deacon Willard "Fred" Passauer II, wife Kathy (Wink) Passauer of Naples, FL, his sister Elizabeth A (Passauer) VieBrock of Joppa, MD, her former husband Christopher VieBrock and niece and nephew Keely A. and John C. VieBrock of Forest Hill, MD, and his maternal grandmother Mary Kaye (Clapsadle) Wink of Curwensville PA, also many uncles, aunts, and cousins and Darleen "Jude" Garcia friend, companion, and soul mate of 10 years.

A special thank you to his caregivers from Catholic Hospice of Fort Lauderdale. We are grateful for your compassionate care, gentle touch and kind words.

Friends are invited to the visitation at Fred Hunter Funeral Home at 718 S. Federal Hwy Fort Lauderdale, FL. on Sunday December 26, from 4 PM to 6 PM, immediately followed by a funeral vigil service in the chapel, officiated by his dad Deacon Fred Passauer from 6 PM to 7 PM.
